Many people expend much energy trying to obtain what they’ve determined will make them happy or successful –money, fame, material possessions.  There is one thing of greater value — which I hope we all acquire before leaving this earth– and that is to be truly known.  For it is only in being truly known that one can say they’ve been truly loved! Love — there’s nothing greater! – Belinda Powell

My name is Belinda Powell.  That’s my name, but who am I; that’s the question.  Many people live a lifetime and are never really known.  Some of you who read my blog I may never have the opportunity to meet.  Therefore, I hope that what you read on these pages will give you an insight into the Life that I live.

What is this Life that I live?  I am . . . .a mother to a wonderful 5-year-old daughter, a daughter, a sister to four brothers, fortunate to be and have a loyal friend and a trusted acquaintance to many.   Many initially think our lives are about us — our desires, our wants, our needs — but some of us eventually begin to seek out our purpose and reason for being, realizing that there’s something more to this thing we call life.  At the early age of 12 I had an encounter with the I AM.  Five years later, at the age of 17, I had yet another powerful experience that changed the course of my life.  However, two years later I would suffer attacks that caused me to doubt the Word of God and for 20 years it kept me wandering in a wilderness experience.  But praise be to God; every experience has brought me back full circle to where I started — back to the I AM, the Way, the Truth and the Life.  So, this Life I live I realize I do so because it’s in Christ I live, and move and have my being.  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live.  I live in this flesh by the faith of God’s son, who loved me and gave himself for me.

So who am I?  I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, that I should show forth the praises of Him who has called me out of darkness into His marvelous light!

I am a daughter of the I AM.
